Supercapacitors, also known as ultracapacitors, are a novel new storage technology capable of long life and instant recharging. Through recent advances in nanomaterials, electrification of infrastructure, industry, and concerns about fuel, the technology has greatly evolved and adapted in recent years. Supercapacitors nowadays have uses in markets such as motorsports, automative, aerospace, heavy industry and transportation, maritime, renewables, and grid, in which they contribute large scale economic benefits.
